ICCS not an approved grading company on eBay?
I had not listed an ICCS coin for a while. When the culling occurred a while back, leaving PCGS/NGC/ANACS/ICG, I thought ICCS was still OK. Has this changed? Is the solution to list on eBay Canada? Thanks.

<< <i>Thanks. But there are huge numbers of ICCS coins on eBay. I guess I'll send a message to some of the sellers, ask how they managed it. >>
I don't think eBay has the staff to go looking for rule violators but if someone reports it they will take action to remove the offending listing.

You can't state that companies must meet the following criteria and then list what the companies should do. Geez.
From eBay...
"Criteria for approved grading companies
To be eligible to be an approved grading service, the grading company must, at minimum, meet the following objective criteria:
The service should have graded at least 50,000 pre-1956 coins.
The service should provide a live, online population report.
There should be at least three graders on staff who are considered numismatic experts. A numismatic expert is an individual who has been a full-time numismatist for at least 5 years. At least 1 of the graders should be a member of the Professional Numismatists Guild, and all three should be members of the American Numismatic Association.
The service should provide a buyback guarantee in writing for coins later determined to be counterfeit, damaged, misgraded or misattributed
Coins being slabbed must be encased in a unique, tamper resistant holder with anti-counterfeiting measures (such as a hologram, or other method)
The service should enable online verification of unique serial numbers"
According to eBay's policy, the only real requirement ("must" statement) seems to be the type of holder. The rest are all "should" statements.
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
If you list on Ebay.ca and then provide shipping to US, then the ICCS listed item will be listed on Ebay.com (so that's the way around that issue).

After I posted this thread last night, I went to eBay.ca and was able to post an ICCS listing. It still only gives the above four as approved companies, but I inserted ICCS and this time the system accepted it.

Sort of odd, since ICCS has such a high reputation. But they must not have bothered to comply with eBay's idiosyncrasies for US eBay.

<< <i>Thanks DoubleEagle. I tried that last night and it worked.

Most likely the lack of secure plastic slab would be my guess.

Actually, I've reported plenty of counterfeit and trademark violation listings (and even called eBay and informed them verbally, with listing numbers!) and they are mostly still active / never removed. So I'd go a step further to say they don't even have the staff to punish rule violators once they've been found.
As DerryB stated, though, it is quite easy to sell an ICCS coin on the bay. Just don't check the box that says "graded." You can put ICCS in your subject heading, and include the photos and all. Treat it like a raw coin in a regular 2x2 flip.
