I just bid a PWCC card up $220 (35%) and didn't win it...

I wish I could take my bid back so the underbidder could have saved that $220! It kind of skews the true value of a card when only 2 bidders go after a card.

But if you want it your way. We should all have a group meeting on every monday morning and deal out who can bid on what so we dont bid each other up.

I know what you mean. But also think of it as a compitition and not the guy who won the card you wanted now has less money to bid you up again. Or now he wont be in the market and you will pick it up for half next time.
Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable

I have gotten accustomed to paying top-dollar for nice cards from PWCC...The last few cards I've won all had bids in the last seconds, and it's gotten to the point where I just bid the amount I'm comfortable with and keep my fingers crossed.

<< <i>I won the E104-III Nadja last night, from Brent, for over $300 less than my high snipe.....glad there were no safety bids . That will finish up my back run of the Blanke-Wenneker E104s.......happy to have that knocked out. >>
Great eye appeal for a 1. Glad you saved some money.

The guy that bid $298 has 11 bid retractions. The final price was over double that but I wouldn't be surprised if that $298 bid was a safety bid.

Detective Maurice seems like you can't let it go can you? I'm still trying to figure out if your more like Barney Fife or Barnaby Jones when your trying to uncover the wrong doings of the bad guys in sports cards. The safety bid comment is getting old.

<< <i>There's only two guys that I know of (including me) that bid big for 1968, 69, 70 and 1971 Topps Hockey deceased autographs. When one pops up on eBay, we actually get a hold of each other and work it out. It's definitely bad for the seller but we were each bidding $250+ for cards that the 3rd highest bidder was bidding $25 on. Happend 5-6 times before we decided it was crazy. >>
