I've always thought that the 1991 Topps Desert Shield Mattingly only came in the error version (10 hits/1990) but the 1991 Topps Desert Shield New York Yankees registry set includes both versions. 1991 Topps Desert Shield New York Yankees

Several years ago, I notified PSA to let them know that I was certain the Lonnie Smith card only existed in the 136G version, not the other variation that exists in the base set. They removed the other variation from the composite.
If you believe the Mattingly only exists in one form, and no other collectors have attempted to register the other variation, there is a good chance it doesn't exist.
