  • They say it isn't mercury but it sure looks like it to me unless galium has similiar properties.

    I don't think it is mercury.

    Mercury is highly toxic and can lead to brain madness if you inhale the fumes long enough.

    During the Industrial Revolution, the hat makers use to use mercury in their factories and the workers became 'insane' over the years and this is where the term 'mad hatters' arose.

    Also, when I was in University (long ago) some bozo student in my class was playing around with bottled mercury, spilled it all over the floor and they had to close the building for 3 or 4 days so they could come in and clean it up.
