Wait a minute it's the same one 171/400. Did someone not pay you?? Or did you not get what you wanted for it and bought it back?

Ebay auction that buyer has 60% of bids with you?

    Original post

I know these guys were talking about shilling??? Maybe some of these guys are right?

  • The 60% activity is because he has only bid on 5 times in the past month and 3 of those bids have been on items that probstein actively accepted as a consignment!! The more alarming thing is the 13 retractions in the past six months. Either the guy is a flake or someone is using it as a shill account.

C'mon Rick. If you want to save any shred of dignity on this board, stop accepting submissions from people who are obviously shilling their own items. Sure you can't police the shillers but you can certainly not accept submissions from them.

actually, this is the same 171/400 that closed this past Wednesday

It looks like an amazing book. I wish I had the dough to purchase one.

So it's the third time this exact book has been listed in the last 4 months?? What's going on with your selling at auctions Rick?? Or are these guys having you relist it??

    Thanks,

  • It's a shame he hasn't done something to keep the integrity of his auctions. I understand that he stands to make more money by letting these things happen, but there have been too many instances and suspicious activity for me to get into a bidding war in one of his auctions.
  • On November 28th, probstein left his typical "fast buyer" feedback for the winner of the same item that ended on November 21 that blee1 linked above. So either the guy returned the item or was bidding on his own item that he consigned to Rick.

this is such a unique item.......it seems really strange that the seller would be so cavalier about starting this thread, when the same item has previously been sold and bought twice.

Truly oblivious or flaunting? One or the other

don't worry, if the past is any indication you'll have a few more chances at it.

  • Its a shame this kind of stuff has to go on and taint our great hobby.
Is there no integrity left in the world at all? Now they don't even try to hide it.
I guess as long as people are willing to be taken advantage of it will continue.

How does the free sh work with your consignments? I would think an 86 pound item would eat up your comission on this deal.
Never seen one of those books.

Isn't it possible that the last person who won this book, asked him to keep it and relist with a high BIN? The BIN is $5000, if it sells for $4500 that would be a nice profit for the owner and he wouldn't have even had to mess with shipping.

    Just a thought...

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

My question was how the free sh works. Does that come out of his pocket or the consignors? Was just wanting to know how that worked being such a large item.
I also agree that could be it. But the winner doenst even have to worry about sh bc it was free?. And its free again, so It might be a consern to the new buyer who now eats the cost if it sells again on sh. Right?
