World coins struck at U.S. Mints

Can anybody provide an insight as to the market and collector base for non-U.S. coins struck by U.S. mints?

Thanks in advance.

I collect high grade silver crown struck at Philadephia mint.......and I think they are cheap.

I give away money. I collect money.

Philippines coins struck under U.S. sovereignty have a steady market.

There are LOTS of world coins struck at US mints, and by US companies like Scovill.

I think somebody needs to produce a handbook of these. The list goes well beyond the obvious ones like Philippine coinage, and well back into the 19th century. Somewhere I've got a small bag of 1881 Colombian 2-1/2 centavo pieces which were struck by Scovill in Waterbury, CT.

Another one that comes to mind are the WW2 Allied-occupied Belgian 2-franc pieces struck on leftover steel cent blanks by the US mint.

Stuff like this probably doesn't have any great interest for a lot of folks right now, because it's less well known.

But if a book ever came out, who knows?

Wow. They have a Registry set. I had no idea. The Registry has come a long way since I last played there.

That's a MONSTER Reg set, for sure!
