Since There Has Not Been A Teletrade Post In A Day Or Two ...

I would like to say that the President of Teletrade (Corey M.) and Greg Roberts protege from the Spectrum Group (Brian K.) invited me out to lunch yesterday at a great restaurant here in town "Charlie Palmers". I enjoyed a beet salad, the Scottish Salmon and an iced tea.
Both Corey and Brian ordered Cheeseburgers and french fries. Obviously, the proper thing to do would have been to order a cheeseburger as well. But, luckily, the waitress took my order first before either of them and also I am about twice their age and need to avoid those types of lunches wherever possible (as I end up at "In And out Burger" enough with two kids in their 20's).
A key focus at the lunch was Teletrade's relaunch of "Teletrade Direct" coming any week. Since they are tied into their sister company, A-Mark Precious Metals, they believe they will be able to start offering the latest release of bullion coins at the cheapest possible prices in the marketplace.... avoiding the auction process all together. Certainly not a novel concept, but one they plan to exectute well and become another profit center for Teletrade.
I also want to tell you that both of these gentleman are GREAT YOUNG GUYS. A couple of very sharp business-minded college boys making their way in the coin biz (they've been out of school now for a while, but they still seem like young guys to me). They are at nearly every coin show. Make it a point to stop by and say hello to one or both of them.
And, a shout of to Gar over at Teletrade ... YOU DA MAN!!
Thank you and now let the "attacks" continue on Teletrade.

This coin has been sold twice and returned twice. The link shows it coming up for a 3rd time and the description still does not match the coin.
Am I to believe that neither of the two winning bidders pointed out to Teletrade why the coin was being returned? I would sure think they would, as they would then be off the hook for any "return fee".
I can't say I've ever seen a beet salad.
Regarding the beet salad ... fellas ... give it a chance. It really grows on you! My 22 year old daughter Lauren (fit and trim and a near 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do) convinced me to try one a couple years ago. I've never stopped ordering it since!

Mitch, Mitch, Why are you so defensive and water carrying for Teletrade? Nobody on this forum really attacks
Teletrade or you for that matter. I would think that most here are like myself respects Teletrade and you. When
there is a post about Teletrade it is usually about an experience a member has had with Teletrade and then others
will post their thoughts about their dealings with Teletrade, maybe good maybe bad. The following posts aren't all ways
that they were not happy with Teletrade but as in every form of life there will be some rain falling and also as in all
companies we deal with they can not please everyone all of the time. It is nice to see you stand up for Teletrade
and to be their defender since they do not all ways answer posts about their company but I guess they know you
are here to do that for them. You do a good job of explaining some of the ways they work at Teletrade and I for
one hope you continue to do it and keep this forum informed about the inter workings of Teletrade.
So glad to see that you are eating properly and staying away from those burgers & fries but to be honest with
you I wish I could do that at my age but if the boys had asked me too lunch I would have had a double with extra
fries since they I hope where buying.
Take Care Mitch

<< <i>Wow! Miracles are happening before my eyes! The coin (NOW) matches the description.
I hate to admit it but whenever a beet salad is on the menu, I'm ordering it. It's never failed to be good.
I have never bid on Teletrade and I'm unlikely to but I will keep an open mind on the bullion project. I do love a couple of the players of the parent company regardless.

Tiny: I hear you brother! And, those were gourmet fries as well ... of course I had to try (2) of them!
Stephanie (and others) ... YOU KNOW IT! And, by the way, I now have possession of your autographed Silver Eagle book from Miles Standish. Are you planning to be in Irvine any time soon?

I've had lunch at CP's and the burger was among the best 3 I've ever had. Their lunch restaurant is known for its burgers.
Sounds like a Cliff Mishler "wannabe".

They actually have a sit down "side" restaurant where they sell burgers and fries at this South Coast Plaza location. But, in the main restaurant side, a lot less burgers are being served and a lot more "finer" dishes like the salmon, filets, etc., etc. The beet salad is one of the best I have ever had anywhere. The head chef at this location (a young star chef) is actually friends with my daughter and is doing a great job over there.

How do you intend to get mustard stains on your shirt with that diet?
There is a joke in there tied to the beets and other clothing items, but I ain't "going" there!

Anyone ever been to Chicago and had a burger from Portello's???
I was in Chicagoland today and they have the BEST Burgers I have ever tasted and it was from a drive-thru. I believe they have a large sit-down restaurant as well but I hit the drive-thru whenever in Chicago

I believe I had a side salad instead of fries! We can all be as lean as Brian K. We look forward to the articles you are writing!
Forum Members stayed tuned....I will be sending details out on a Teletrade "Mixer" to take place at Long Beach Show, so we all can enjoy some drinks and food!
Thanks

Now that the menu is cleared up, I have never done business with TT and cannot imagine that I will do so in the future. Nothing personal, but I have found more suitable coins in a more collector-friendly presentation in other venues.
Back to the food theme, GC is eating TT's lunch and will continue to do so.
I like Teletrade.

Maybe you can be as lean as Brian K (and probably are right now) but, unfortunately, that boat has already sailed for me.

Thanks. Working away on one I am trying to get finished by next Thursday for CU.

MJ: Rock on!
Corey: I will give you a call at 10A (your time) tomorrow. PM me if that does not work.
RYK: I enjoyed a nice lunch with Teletrade. I have no interest in a "confrontation". Obviously, you don't either ... enjoy with call with Corey tomorrow!

I can't stand beets, but I have purchased several coins from Teletrade and have been quite happy
overall. I'm not sure I prefer the new format, but if it turns out I no longer see any coins there I want
at prices I wish to pay, my life will go on merrily and without rancor toward Teletrade.

Beet salads aren't bad and for the record I've had cheeseburgers when out to lunch with the competition.
Personally I don't know Corey well but I respect Brian K. and him and I have confidence in them that they are operating Teletrade to the best of their ability.

Oh, Mitch, baiting everyone with...
"Since There Has Not Been A Teletrade Post In A Day Or Two ... "
was asking for trouble.
Edit: And if that was bad enough, the beet salad was over the TOP.
BTW, my wife and I have disputed the best way to prepare beets for the beet salad. One of us prefers roasted, the other boiled. Perhaps I should start a thread with a poll.
I don't buy much from Teletrade. But it is one of those venues I root for. I try hard to find something I like and need. Been unlucky, I guess.

Everyone knows you boil the beets, never roast
But.......I digress
Had some luck with TT a few years back but not so much lately, always get outbid.

Oh no Stephanie! If you truly beleive that you are missing out on a real treat!
All of the root veggies are at their very best when roasted. I like to take a medley of beets, carrots, potatoes, turnips or rutabagas, and parsnips, cut 'em into 1-1.5" pieces, toss with some oil , fresh garlic, and a bunch of rosemary and roast @ 450 til browned and tender.
Throw in some pieces of italian sausage and chicken wings b4 roasting if yer a meat fan.
You will be gaga over how good this is.
under the other format.
I wish their new venture success.

It appears that though they corrected the erroneous lot description (changed it from MS64+ FBL to simply MS64) but left the $140 bid in place that some one placed when it was listed as FBL. TT should have canceled the bid and notified the bidder of same.
The consignor can count on that lot being returned I suppose....
