1918-S Buffalo. Would this be a 2 feather No F?

This is scary, I'm starting to get into another series that I can spend $$$ on.

Looks like a two-feather to me, but I can still distinctly see the designer's initial.

    Nice find...
    I'm thinking it's more a 2 and a half feather.
Doesn't quite match the diagnostics in Ron Popes book fir the two feather, though there is one version which I'm not seeing.
He'd be the guy to give you a firm opinion on this... And some others with more experience than myself.
I'm just discovering this new corner of the hobby myself!
    Welcome and good luck!

  • I would say 2 & 1/2 feather IMO. Definitely a No F though.

    Nice find,

I believe the die crack is one of the key diagnostics for this variety, ( 2FNF )

And there is a trace of the third feather as well as the F remaining.
