Well it's a lot more than 3 times the next lower grade.
But still, what a bargain. I can't tell if that haziness is on the front of the coin or the slab.
I was really expecting this to be closer to the listed guide price of $2500. Unfortunately I had to work at work today couldn't check ebay. What a stupid time to end an auction.
Outrageous prices guys are willing to pay for classics.
I say that laughingly, as I bid in both. I genuinely expected this Ike to go for at least 50% more than the final bid, and was real surprised when I got to work and saw that it had ended at this level.
Doh! I'm joining segoja in banging my head on the wall.
The haze is a detraction, but with a little cleanup loooks like it could be a real beauty. Even just for the label it should have brought far more than that.
I'm dying on this. I put in a low bid with about 5 days to go to get the piece on my Ebay. Had meant to bid yesterday at the close (if the piece was still reasonably priced), but totally forgot. This piece did get panned on this Board last week as being totally ugly. From looking at the scan I didn't agree at all. If anyone knows the buyer, and he wants to make a quick $500 minimum, have him email me, as I would be happy to pay at least that much more.
The coin did get panned as ugly last week but I didn't agree either. I was surprised it went this cheap also, I thought you guys were convinced it wasn't worth it when no one bid on it. As for selling it, I plan to add it to my registry set. I will have a 66 available

Of course, this is currently less than half of what the last one sold for.
