q for 1793 french coin experts

Hello

I have a brass coin with a design (at least on one side) that is similar to the phygarian cap over quiver design on 1793 French sol coins of the Seige of Mainz (Mayence). But mine is just slightly different. Below the cap and quiver, there is no date. Encircling the cap and quiver holder is a wreath and around that is "Republique Francais". So...just that for a legend and no date or denomination.

Additional info: it's brass, a little bigger than a U.S quarter and has a rope-design (as opposed to denticled) border.

The reverse is completely blank.

I still cannot make a positive ID on what this coin is.... maybe some far flung European province that the French battled with around 1793? And it's definitely not a coin of France proper (I checked). It's not Haiti either. Anybody know what this could be? Much thanks!
