    Looks like a small strike through. You can see draped over the E. Maybe a piece of reeding? Neat though.

    PMD, the lower part of the 'E' was simply gouged out some time ago and the flap of metal stayed.

    Really I'm no expert but I fail to see how a flap of metal was gouged out and then reattached itself to the top and bottom of the "E" without some help??
