Maybe he will consign it with you, you can "buy" it from him and get it bumped to a PSA 10 for yourself?

I owned a PSA 9 back in '05 and I currently have an 8...this is better than the 9.

Buy the card, not the holder. That's what I learned from my ex-CU buddies back in the day. 'Twas good advice
