Anyone heard of this?

I have a 1958 Washington Quarter with a standard reverse, But I swear the obverse is minted with a proof die. Amazing detail and has all of the characteristics of a proof die. Anyone ever heard of this, and if so, do you think our sponsors would consider grading it such?

Has there been any Books written on the Washington Quarters Proof and Regular? I have searched and have found nothing and wonder why, with all the Varieties between the regular and the proofs would it not make for a interesting read? There are many Washington Experts on this site, and yet Not one book written? I would love to see a picture of the OP's coin and I thought another member found what looked like a reverse proof but without the seperation. Op should include Washington Quarter in title and maybe would get more replies from the Washington Experts. Enjoy

I have seen Washingtons from that era that I suspect were struck from recycled Proof dies (it would certainly make sense to re-use them), but since there is no hub difference as on the reverse you cannot prove it.

Something like that would have to recognized by the Cheerypicker guys first to get PCGS to make the variety designation on a grading. And as mentioned above if there is not a definitive diagnostics it will not be added I would think.
