Ebay PSA 9 1970 Munson RC Cello - heads-up

Folks something about this one looks odd to me, amazing pack if legit. Sorry for long link

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-UNOPENED-1970-TOPPS-BASEBALL-CELLO-PACK-PSA-9-MINT-THURMAN-MUNSON-RC-BACK-/140910437212?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid=111000&algo=REC.CURRENT&ao=1&asc=14136&meid=5197080988563255358&pid=100015&prg=1085&rk=1&sd=140910437212&

PSA cert report makes no mention of Munson RC on back. And that back picture is really strange and something is up. I've sent the seller a note asking about the cert and to post better pictures.

Listed by trusted-seller1, anybody dealt with this person before? Also has a Whitey Ford front 59 GAI cello up for bid that appears legit.

I know we are all on alert wrt cello's

I wouldn't get too excited about this pack being a problem. It almost assuredly came from the Fritsch warehouse.

Look at the flip number on the pack: 18584863

Now look at the other 1970 packs Fritsch currently has listed on ebay:

18584819 - 1970 Series 2 with Mets Show Muscle card on front
18584864 - 1970 Series 2 with NLCS Summary card on front (flip number is just 1 higher than the pack in question)

Fritsch had a run of 40 or so series 2 and series 6 packs up on Ebay last year. Based on the flip numbers
the evidence is pretty strong that the pack in question is from the Fristch submission. And being from
Fritsch, the likelihood that this pack has a problem is very small.

    Cheers

That pack is from Fritsch. I remember when it was first listed by them.

  • Thanks guys yes I would agree ther cert # is valid and we are looking at a 1970 PSA 9 pack.

What strikes me as odd for a pack with such a hobby significant rookie on the back, why would PSA not note on the holder or online cert Munson is there. This is the new style holder and something that should have been noted.

That in combination with the odd backside photo just doesn't sit right. Is it possible he is selling a PSA 9 legit cello without Munson on back. Maybe. Am I wrong, maybe. We can each make our own decision and choose to bid or not I agree.
  • I could be wrong but don't you have to specify to add the card showing info on the sub form? Psa won't do it automatically... Could be wrong...

Last year, I submiited a 75 cello with Winfield on the top and PSA noted the Yount rookie on the back, which I was unaware of.
