1878 8tf morgan what vam?

I had recently purchased an 1878 on fleabay for about silver value. As much as I would like to show a picture, it wouldnt help much as my picture taking is wanting. I have figured out it is 8tf. I also have the vam encyclopedia, but I am lost. Here is what i can see under a 10x loop. The date is doubled, with the doubling visible on the top rite of the digits. All the obverse stars are doubled. Liberty is doubled. The left points of the stars on the rite of the date are cut off. On the reverse. "one dollar" shows doubling. The coin is definately au 50 or au 55 and there is proof like luster particularly around the outer edges of the coin. If anyone could steer me into what vam this mite be, I would appreciate it. Also, does it pay to submit a coin like this to anacs or ngc? I don't want to sell it, but if anyone knows what it mite be worth, I'd like to know. I was guessing it was vam 16,17, or 19, but it doesnt fit the descriptions exactly. Can a Morgan have more than one vam number? Any help is greatly appreciated.
