Make sure the address side of the label is the right side up.

I always use plain paper and tape over everything BUT the bar codes. Works like a charm.

Is it cheaper to tape over paper than buy labels?

I used to use just plain paper and taping it to the bubble mailer. It came to a point where I was just using too much tape and running out of tape fast.

I think it's just cheaper to buy self-adhesive paper. The dutymon (Neil) hooked me up with this place. Very very cheap. Since I don't print out the hard copy
receipt for myself (already in ebay system), then I can use the other half for more printing. Check it out.

Doesn't look too cheap to me. They sell 900 labels for $35.40 (free s/h). You can buy 1000 labels for $28.29 (free s/h) on ebay.

Although, if you're buying in smaller quantities, then that place appears to be cheaper than ebay.

Do you have a link for this, cos I can't find it.

    I bought 600 for $26.50 (delivered)

The USPS FAQ says "Barcodes with tape over them cannot be scanned by our equipment."

Apparently they get delivered anyway, but you might be slowing down the process by forcing someone to type in the bar code number by hand. Or, maybe only some types of tape will make the bar code "unscannable."

When I drop off for acceptance the scanners have never had a problem.
