Cardinal Cents

A lot of deserved attention to the 1794 SP66 dollar, of course. The other 93 lots, mostly US large cents, had some very interesting results. A few standouts:
Lot 13001, MS65 chain S-2 brought $992K. There has been an amazing advance in prices for (the few extant) gem chains.
Lot 13004, PCGS MS64 BN 1794 head of 1793, $881K. The best of the best for this rare variety.
Lot 13016, PCGS AU-55 1804, $223K, CC#10. An astounding advance over it's last sale for $80,500 just three years ago.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
I was happy to add an upgrade to my late date collection with the 1849. A nice coin, with great provenance.
Seems early date large cents across the spectrum continue to advance.
I can't play in that league, so I've gone back to upgrading the rest of my middle dates
<< <i>I just wish I could have seen them together. >>
At FUN, these were on one end of the floor, and the High Desert Collection was on display at PCGS on the other end.
I had to get back to the bourse floor for a reality check, before I got depressed and threw my coins in the trash
<< <i>Amazing prices. How many of these are headed to your house? >>
Unfortunately, none. I just hope in time there will be a trickle down effect on the rest of the early copper market.
I have to say, having watched the EAC market for over 20 years, chain cents have steadily advanced in prices, unlike some other parts of the coin market which are more volatile.
Empty Nest Collection
Legend procured BOTH of them; one for me a decade earler and one for the Cardinal collection many years later!
