I'm trying to buy a big ticket item from seller with no ebay/paypal experience. She seems a bit flaky to me, at least too flaky to trust sending a wire transfer to.

I'd pay a commission in silver coins / slabbed coins to keep this related. It's not worth an $800 flight to me.

    I'd highly discourage an Ebay purchase when done by wire transfer.

    If the purchase is bogus, say bye-bye to your dough.

    I'm in Canada so I can't help you out...on second thought it's about 10 below today so maybe I should take a flight to Florida....still couldn't help you as I'd be golfing from sun-up to sundown.

    Wire transfer is the same as mailing cash. It cannot be recovered.
