Help needed! How do you get "green stuff" off nickels?

I have bought some Jeffersons and Buffaloes in the last year, and some of them have green stuff on them. I think it's called "verdigris" or something.

How do you get that off?

These aren't high end coins, just album quality, and I'm not sure what to do.

Acetone? Something else?

Yes soak in acetone and rinse with distilled water, then air dry.
Try one to see if the result is satisfactory before doing more.
