Grading Question 1986 Fleer Basketball

I have a collection of 86 Fleer cards that are split between PSA 10's and BGS 9.5's. I am thinking about consolidating into all PSA holders since BGS has no working registry. I have around 20 BGS 9.5's. If I submit them to PSA for re-grading how many PSA 10's do you think would come out of the BGS 9.5 lot? Thanks for you insights.

Tough call on 9.5s to 10's. I would bet 20-25% would cross to 10's.
Just my guess. It might depend on the subgrades, although I doubt
PSA would use that as a grading guideline. Cards with quite a few 10 subs
would seem to be sharper cards.

PSA doesn't seem to be as strict on a print dot here and there as BGS,
but the corners would be scrutinized closely by PSA, so those need to be sharp.
Back centering isn't as big a deal with PSA either.

    Good luck!

I appreciate the input from everyone so far. Hopefully a few more opinions are out there. Anybody have experience going from BGS to PSA or PSA to BGS on regrades. I agree about the print dots, I purchased a PSA 10 Sleepy Floyd once in an auction with a large yellow print dot on it and wondered how it ever got a 10. I ended up selling it because I didn't like the print dot even though it was a 10. Edges and corners for this set do seem to be held to a higher standard on PSA vs. BGS.

The main issue you might run into is sheet cut cards in BGS holders. In all honesty if you are wanting to have an all psa 10 set you would probably be better off selling the 9.5s and just buying psa 10s. Hope this helps.
