picked up the epson v330 off amazon after reading the recommendations on the board. out of the box i had my first scan in under a minute. grabbed a few pickups from last year - will share more as they get scanned.

I like the Munson - I isolated it - to show it off.
Good eye on the Horace - I assume that's a "high" number and more scarce? Congratulations.
My scanner needs replacing. Going to have to pick the v330 up soon!

yes, horace is a SP hi # - i came upon it one day shortly after chatting with a buddy who was a big Horace fan back when he broke in - was planning to gift it as an 8
No need for that. Just leave the lid open when you scan. The darker the room, the more black the background will be.
Pitch black room and the scanner lid open creates a perfect black background.
