I'm not a fan of paypal by any means, but what % do you think they should chrage? A basic credit card merchant account essentially charges the same % to process payments.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
After I read a little more closely, I was drawn to the "out" phrase:“We need to get better about helping people, or explaining why actions are being taken.”
IOW, they may not change squat.

Remember when PayPal first came out? They didn't charge any fees. Everything was free and they made their money on the "float". When ebay took over Paypal the fees went up quickly. The difference between a credit card company and PayPal is the credit card company is using their money and PayPal is using your money.

I know. However, a basic credit card merchant hasn't already hit you up for other (eBay seller) fees, or forced you into using PayPal (not accepting checks or money orders) like eBay does.
I think eventually the government will require Paypal to adhere to the same rules that apply to banks when it comes to freezing your funds and otherwise deciding in its sole discretion when you may or may not have access to your funds. I think this is an effort by Paypal to avoid that, but I do not think it will be successful in the long term.

When I signed up with Paypal not only were there no fees but they gave $5 just for signing up. They started charging fees before Ebay bought them out. If I remember correctly, the fees have stayed about the same. James
