Is there a way from keeping baseball from toning?

I know it's a probably a dumb question but me & a friend were talking about that & I don't him I didn't know if there was one. I have heard that humidity or heat causes yellow toning spots but don't know if that's accurate or not. I dont really have many baseballs so I thought I'd ask some experts here that do collect.
