Did you come down with the Flu/cold at FUN?

The FUN show was great and I did get to meet a few of you as you passed through Public Registration. On Saturday, I developed a sore throat and by Sunday knew that I had caught something. Both my wife and I came down with the bug and are now in the last stages of getting rid of it. I know that Randy Campbell of ICG caught the same thing as well and I was wondering if anyone else came down sick after the show?

Nope. The influenza hits you like a ton of bricks. There is no "bit of" flu...
At a coin show once you touch coins you keep your hands isolated from the rest of your body and never ever touch your mouth, eyes, or nose and never handle food. If you do that not only do you substantially cut down your infection chances you also cut down the chances of contaminating coins with debris and fluids.

<< <i>I didn't but plenty of others did, some more serious than others. Considering the unsatisfactory hygienic standards of the vast majority of numismatists and the number of people who were in the aisles coughing and hacking it doesn't surprise me how many people were infected.

Every time I see someone rummaging their hands through rows of slabs or rolls of circulated coins then take that hand and grab a handful of potato chips to stuff straight into their mouths without washing up first I cringe. At a show like FUN you see something like that happening about once every 5 minutes. Then you wonder why people get sick.

It darn near killed me then, and I swore I would never take chances again.
<< <i>Probably let your blood alcohol get too low - it kills the virus.
Yah, otherwise FUN Flu Unto Numismatists.

Not at FUN but my wife got it here in town and I got it since the next Tuesday and still trying with all the
wonder drugs to get rid of it, all most done. Yea like they say, we can go to the moon but can cure a cold.
