Good coin magazines?

I already get one with my ANA membership.

I have found

COINage
CoinWorld
Coins
Numismatic News.

Which one of the 4 is the best, in your opinion?

Coin World. I used to subscribe to them and if I decided to subscribe to numismatic magazines ever again, it would be Coin World and nothing else.

Except maybe The Numismatist, though that isn't really a subscription since it's included with ANA membership.

I subscribe to Coin World. I am an ex-NN subscriber---it's not worth the paper it's printed on.
I have occasionally bought issues of Coins and COINage. I don't care for them because I don't
find the articles interesting----they seem to target beginners.

I prefer specialty publications, like Penny-Wise, the C4 Newsletter, TAMS Journal, etc.

Coins,is the man! so to speak,It has the most interesting articles.Esp. "Coin Finds". It's nice to read about hunters seeking for the same coins that we do. Coins has a variety (pun, not intended) of stories and different articles inside.Very historical at times about the U.S. Mint and such... and of course, prices as well. Check it out. imageimage very good for the price,approx.5 or 6$

If I am going to pay for a subscription to any coin magazine, I expect to get something from it, in the form of new knowledge. I had a thirty year subscription to both Numismatic News and Coin World, but as time went on I found them to be of steadily declining interest, with little of the information that I sought. By their very nature, they are 'news' publications, and tend to cover new and recent U. S. Mint offerings, but offer almost no substantive information about numismatic history, classic U. S. coins, or the minting processes. Both publications began to downsize, and eventually became almost an embarrassment, so I canceled both subscriptions. As I gradually became more knowledgeable in my chosen area, I found specialty publications, such as the 'John Reich Journal' (official publication of the John Reich Collectors Society), and the 'Gobrecht Journal' (official publication of the Liberty Seated Collectors Club) to be of significantly greater interest to me. These two publications, along with participation on a couple of on-line forums such as this, provide the information I seek.

Anyone interested in 30 years worth of Numismatic News and Coin World? It's about a ton of newspapers. Like any self-respecting collecter, I never throw anything away. image

Coin World is the only magazine with any real substance.

Coin World and Numismatic News. Read them both front to back (even the ads).
