<< <i>I think it's the best NoCal show - but the new Santa Clara show (next one is in April) will give it a run for its money! >>
I daresay the first showing of the new Santa Clara show already placed it above the SJ show! I hope you'll be in it this April.

<< <i>That's where my Furry convention used to be! >>
One time I was passing through the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and I happened to run into one of those Furry conventions. To call those folks odd would be an understatement, and that's coming from someone who goes to over 50 coin shows a year.

I'll be at the SJ show hunting my usual. Fun stuff.
BOO to the city as well no parking signs around the entire street as well.
As for which show is best i prefer Santa Clara admission is $6/4 with coupon but has a differnt selection more out of state dealers etc than San jose show. Free Parking!! I liked the old show promoted by CU much better.
Also what if any price should shows charge admission Ana regular price is $6 per day Long Beach is 8 regular but you do get 3 days unlike ana with one day, Wish Ana would just change it to all 3 days.
Admission should be as low as possiable to attract more collectors and general public.
Guess thier is a tradeoff you can only charge the dealers so much for a table and get the rest from the public to cover expenses.
Guess your lucky for those Baltimore,Philadelphia,Orlando shows that you get in for FREE! and here we get charged a couple of bucks for small shows as well!
<< <i>In as well. Boo for Doubletree dont forget to get your<STRONG> parking stub validated for 4$ parking. I belive the regular rate is <EM>$18

Go park at the Casino M8trix across the street. Free parking without time limit there.
At least this show moved to a decent location with good facilities, complete with clean restrooms with running hot water. A few years ago when this show was at the fairgrounds you had to pay $8 to park in mud and the metal shed the show was in was unheated with no insulation.
And if anyone alters their coin show plans over a lousy $4 then perhaps they need a little more dedication towards the hobby. If I was set up and you spent more than $200 with me I would happily rebate your admission fee. I'm sure some other dealers would do the same if you spend enough with them.
By the way it is true that Whitman Baltimore, Whitman Philadelphia and FUN do not charge admission but to park at the Orange County Convention Center costs $13/ day. In Baltimore and Philadelphia parking costs around $25/ day or more.

That year at the Fairgrounds was bad. Too much of a drive for me this weekend.
For my wine followers, We will be having dinner at Spencer's Steakhouse one night and doing a mini wine tasting with some really amazing wines!! So stay tuned for my San Jose show (and wine) report!!

I live 50 miles away from San Jose, the drive wasn't too long, and the weather was ok.
I am mainly into non-US coins and some specialized exonumia (tokens),
but did purchase a US San Francisco Bay Bridge 1936 commemorative half dollar.
Also purchased an Abbasid Drachm of Baghdad dated AH 158 (AD 775).
There were a number ancient coin, non-US coin, and medal dealers.
The trip was well worth it.

enough that my wife won't let me out of the house, not even to go to church tomorrow.
