LOL? Oh right, it's ebay..

Stumbled across this interesting description in an Ebay listing..

"Please note: Whenever possible, we try to gently hand polish our silver pieces. This provides you with two important benefits. First, it is difficult to see damage through years of patina. Sellers who tell you that they will leave cleaning or polishing to you are either afraid of uncovering damage, or simply don't want to invest the time and effort necessary to clean and polish the pieces. It is difficult enough to purchase items that you cannot first hold in your hand. We believe that this should not be compounded by having you peer at items through 100-200 years of grime. Secondly, YOU do not have to polish the item when you receive it! If we inadvertently miss a defect of any significance, please let us know right away so we can make it right."

  • I took a look at their coins, none appear recently "hand polished". I think they use this for the flatware they sell. They probably use a one-size-fits-all description, and accidentally left this on for this note.

it does seem to refer to the flatware. Many of there coins indicate that they have not cleaned them and are not coin experts.
