Local show pick up - Mike Schmidt Rookie - What would these grade?

I went to a local collectible show in my area this morning. There was everything from glass, military, comics, toys, and cards. I found these for $20.

What do you think these would grade?

I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

    2-3
  • I think the first 2 would grade PSA 3's.The third looks like a 2. All OC however.

I would say you are looking in the "3" range on all of them. From a re-sale point of view, it is not going to matter that much if they get graded "2", "3" or "4", as you are looking at a $10.00 difference between a "2" and a "4".

I see you edited your thread, but if Fred is correct and you paid $20.00 total for all three, you made a nice deal. Good luck with the cards.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • I edited this because when I uploaded the pictures, it was not working initially.

All three for $20. Are they even worth grading? Is this one of "those" cards that only sell well when graded?

Sorry about that ... I guess I did not scroll far enough right and I missed where you had the purchase price of $20.00.

I think it would be hit or miss without slabbing them. You might may a few dollars more or a few dollars less. Either way I don't think it would be a big difference. If it were me, and I could get them slabbed for $5.00 each, I'd probably send them in with your next order. If these are the only ones you have waiting to be slabbed, then I would just sell them raw, as the shipping costs would not be worth it.

wow 40 year old vintage card of one of the, if not the greatest 3rd basemen of all time and you can only get 6 bucks an change for one.

Well, they are quite OC with soft corners. A graded mint copy will run you around $700-$800, if I recall correctly. It's all relative, and condition is everything for many collectors.

Looks likes raw cards in that condition are going for around $20 each on ebay. PSA 5's are selling for around $50. Either way, I'd say good job on that purchase!!

1.5-2 for top 2, 2-2.5 on last one.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • Good candidates for getting signed.
  • From what I learned, if you want to flip them, you would probably make the same or more on each card as they stand. Graded, you might make less.
