Are these good prices for 1996-2000 Ultra Gold Medallion insert sets?

Hi everyone! As many of you know, we have been in very dire financial straits for the past couple years. Well, that has now ended (I hope everyone will respect that I don't wish to go into the exact details), and both me and my wife have gotten ourselves caught up on some things! One of those things in my case was that I've always wanted the 1996-98 Ultra Gold Medallion sets and possibly the ones after that. Well, I was able to get in touch with someone on Feebay who (somehow) had all the sets from 1996-2005 and I was able to get the 1996-98 sets for $75 each shipped (I hope that was a good price). The problem occurs with the ones after that. I'd like to at least get the 1999 and 2000 Ultra GM sets but unfortunately the gimmick, eh I mean SP's really jack up the price. image He says the book value is $240 for the 1999 and $300 for the 2000 with the SP's. How much do these sets typically go for on Feebay, if they ever show up at all?

Or should I just get these sets w/o the SP's and just be happy with that?

  • The only other option would be for you to either put the set together yourself which, with shipping, would far exceed the amount quoted or play the waiting game with feebay. Good luck!

You didn't pay attention to my question. I was asking what the going rate is for those sets with and without the SP's.

You haven't paid attention to your own question. You state you bought them off ebay yet somehow can't see if they sell or for what amount on ebay? Seems rhetorical to me.

I'm not your question is answerable. I can't imagine very many of those GM sets were put together. Your seller likely knows how tough they were to assemble and has priced them accordingly.

Also, you might be better off asking your question over on FCB, specifically the Oh Super Sweet 90's.... #3 thread. 7700 posts of nothing but 90's insert/parallel discussion. CU is a great resource for vintage card knowledge, but not so much when it comes to the shinier stuff.

I gave you my opinion in regards to building it yourself versus buying it from your contact.....but here is a listing for a baseball 1999 lot, from the boards favorite seller, NESC. Assuming you mean baseball.
