Question about Ebays new format

I use ebay alot as a refrence for what things are selling for. I notice now you cant see prices of items that sold for "best offer". For example a Kobe Chrome Youthquake rookie PSA 10 just sold via "best offer", but you cant see the selling price. Just the original asking price of 350.00 with a line thru it. How does this affect VCP when gathering information for their database.

I don't understand what about all of this "improves" the Ebay experience for the buyer and the seller.

It helps sellers by NOT depressing the "market value" of an item just because a seller accepted a BO. It helps buyers by... umm... nm.
