Before you ask, I do not have the ability to post a picture.

I have two examples of 2009 Lincoln proofs that have what appears to be a die gouge. The gouge is frosted.

Poor QC inspection, prior to treatment?

Probably not worth too much anyway. I suppose the die got gouged, etched, and polished. I guess it could be worth more depending on the size and peculiarity.

If you can take a phone pic, PM me and I'll help you get it posted. If your phone has a camera, try using a loupe or a small magnifying glass in front of the lens. This should give you surprising macro abilities
