Just received a very colorful, sincere, 5 page notice/sales brochure from CEO of Dish TV. Every satellite package is now going up $5 a month, but they did thank me for my loyalty.

And if you call them to cancel there will be a nice soothing recorded voice saying "your call is very important to us.".

I'm immune from their price increases. I have Dish Network in my home office at no cost..........well sort of.

After tiring of their vast wasteland of channels I called last Fall to cancel service. They will wheel and deal to convince departing subscribers to change their minds. All kinds of price breaks were suddenly on the table. I persisted and they cancelled service. Supposedly they would send packaging so I could return their equipment via UPS. They never followed through so now I have a satellite dish and related hardware that provides a mixed bag of home shopping channels, infomercials, music channels and some actual movie and entertainment networks - all gratis.

I forgot to mention, the notice said in black in white, "English packages wil increase $5 dollars and month". English packages?

I got the same fancy notice and had to laugh at the stupidity of corporations. It probably cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay a marketing firm to construct this packet, months to get it approved, hundreds of thousands of dollars to get it printed, and then pay for postage!!! All the while they could have saved ME some money for the next few months on my bill! Why not just include a little notice in the regular monthly bills they mail and SAVE ME SOME MONEY!?!??!?!!

About like Geico insurance sending me junk mail every week to buy insurance from them.......WHEN I ALREADY HAVE A POLICY WITH THEM!!!
