Why are you having a hard time with #9? You have 3 words in your tag line on 3 lines... simply place the cursor in front of the "J" in Jeff, hit the backspace 2 times, then hit the space bar 1 time and ta-dah, you have your tag line on 1 line! image

Now, beyond a reasonable doubt enforce it!
  • Nothing wrong with having some clear rules. It keeps the hoopla down.

Still, what this board misses isn't a moderator; it's a facilitator.

Not just someone who can answer questions about rules; but can answer questions the hobbyists have, many of whom are paying members of PSA.

That's why I said it was a shame Joe O. had to come on here to enforce. How about proactively connecting? Transparency is cool.

[This isn't bashing. It's a recommendation. And I apologize... I can't help it... I consult on these types of practices in the real world.]

You you gotta make it hard on folks? Wasting all that time to read a rule then to find out he has to read ANOTHER rule.

  • Forum is better with rules than without. Act professionally and civilly and you won't have anything to worry about. It's pretty easy really.

Now hopefully all the OT posts will cease. I come to these boards to learn, drool over other peoples scans, escape from the real world for an hour or two and to just talk about card collecting.

    Great!

But, I must admit...I do enjoy the drama and the name-calling and the soap boxes. It's very entertaining. Occasionally, anyway. (As long as you're not one of the targets, I suppose).

So...how about maybe a one-day-a-month exception? One day of high drama, for our entertainment? And just think...with a month for the authors to prepare, some of the threads that ensue could become all-time classic literature!

I've been here for 9 years now and have seen people come and go - many I miss.

I would be lying if I didn't say that some of the "flame wars" over the years were actually kind of interesting - sorta like watching the train wreck. And the Saturday nite OTs and free for alls were fun - at times.

Something did change over the past few years and I can't quite put my finger on it.

But one thing for sure - many have decided to raise humor to an art form that's neither funny nor productive.

IMO - the rules set here - which also have been at the US Coin Forum since 2010 - tho a bit heavy handed - I believe are the "last straw" effort to bring back a certain modicum of respect, dignity and quality to our forum.

I look forward to your many posts on our hobby and appreciate learning from you and viewing what you've picked up.

Just show fellow members respect. Not everyone will get along or like each other but we are a family. There will always be a black sheep relative that talks to him/herself and no one likes, but kin is kin.

Everyone has an opinion and there will be plenty of times people disagree. Your opinion is no more factual than others and trying to insult someone's intelligence and/or attempting to berate them into submission does no good. On the other hand, they aren't "attacking" you by expressing a different perspective.

Don't like what someone says? Unless they're posting personal information, slandering, making threats, etc put your big boy pants on, agree to disagree, and move on.

I have been on the boards since 2001. While I am not even close to being a "heavy" poster, I do read the boards regularly and post when I feel like I have something worthwhile to say. In any event, I am not concerned about the forum rules inasmuch as I have never used these boards to pick on anyone, let alone "throw stones" at PSA (if I didn't support PSA and believe it adds value to my collection, I would simply not be here). As noted above, the forum rules should simply weed out those who cannot show common sense, decency and respect.

    Carry on!

No bashing of GAI (and the disappearing pack submissions) allowed? Or any of the numerous basement grading companies?

    Hmmmm.

What about raising concerns of fake un-opened packs/racks or counterfeit cards being sold on ebay? My opinion is there is ton of valuable dectective work that occurs by a lot of good people on this board. This would be a shame if this is not allowed. Does anyone know?

I'm 100% certain PSA will allow ANY conversation on this forum that protects PSA, collectors and the hobby in general, as long as it's respectful (and truthful).
