Are Lance Armstrong cards a good investment?

Does anyone know what his rookie card is and whether I should invest? Does it look like they will increase or decrease after the Oprah interview airs tonight and tomorrow night?

If they increased at all due to the current media, I think you would have to sale this week. I can't imagine that they will go up after the airing.

You can pick one up as a novelty item for <$5, but I don't think it'll be an "investment."

I have his 1992 Impel in a BGS 9.5 case and think I paid about $20 dlvd for it. Don't expect much movement up or down and I live in Austin, TX.

I was hoping he would come out with a denial. I mean he never hit the long ball like all the MLB dopers and his head size never increased. With all this discussion about alleged users and HoF balloting, it is pretty apparent that he didn't look like a doper. His body was probably more similar to Biggio than Bonds or Piazza. Since Biggio is a clean player, Armstrong must be clean too.

Since his sport was a sport of endurance, he would need additional blood/oxygen. Home Run hitters need more muscle. So Armstrong wouldn't be taking the same doses of HGH as a home run hitter... if any at all.

I always believed the price of his rookie card was artificially enhanced.

I think he was accused of blood doping "Blood doping is the practice of boosting the number of red blood cells in the bloodstream in order to enhance athletic performance. Because such blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to the muscles, a higher concentration in the blood can improve an athlete’s aerobic capacity (VO2 max) and endurance"

Not HGH, and I wouldnt think you could test for this

Lance was the Godfather of doping, Jose Canseco and Barry Bonds have nothing on this schmuck:

"In the same statement, Usada said: "Numerous witnesses provided evidence to Usada based on personal knowledge acquired, either through direct observation of doping activity by Armstrong, or through Armstrong's admissions of doping to them that Armstrong used EPO [erythropoietin], blood transfusions, testosterone and cortisone during the period from before 1998 through 2005, and that he had previously used EPO, testosterone and HGH [human growth hormone] through 1996."

  • I can't believe it. I was completely wrong. I thought you had to look like Bonds and McGwire to be dopers. It turn out he DID take EPO, HGH, testosterone, cortisone, and did blood infusions (and god knows what else). I guess you can be 5'9" and weigh 165 lbs and be a user. It turns out you can't tell what a PED user looks like just based on how you look.

  • They are a great investment. Stock up now, someday you might need to burn them for heat for the family. Natural Gas might run out some day.
