    Nice find!

What a door stop that would make.

There's one person who received his 100 extra ounces of gold. Only 6 billion or so left to go.

Near Ballarat, at first I thought it was that old ghost town near
Ridgecrest, CA, There was mining going on last time I was there
or near there, it also famous for a gas stop for the Great Race of
1908. Wrong Ballarat and wrong continant, Great find though

Amateur? Really, with a $6k metal detector all tricked out and the nugget at 2' deep?

I think he knew what he was doing. Hardly amateurish.

Very good points. They mentioned he found it in an area that has been searched before, do you think the high end equipment was the diference maker?
