AuroraBorealisAuroraBorealis Posts: 3,591 ✭✭✭✭✭
Feel asleep on the couch and I guess PCGS staff is working OT as these uploaded this evening sometime...These are the two dates that virtually came to me while leaving the show last week... Both are dates I needed for my Proof Set... The 1894 I posted a pic of in my previous show report thread but this is the new pic of it and it is now a plate coin in coin facts in Proof RB... The second Proof is the 1891 also a new plate coin in coin facts and a top pop in Proof BN... Hope yousssss enjoy... image

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

cool as the other side of the pillow..........wowsers.

I know lot's of guys who collect toned Morgan's and proof Indian pennies. Must be some sort of synergy. Wild pop colors available on both? I love these but don't own an example of either one.

I know lot's of guys who collect toned commems and toned Walkers. These come less wildly toned in general then Morgans/Indians but speak the same way to that "collector". Again, a certain kinship between commems and Walkers. Most guys who collect toned walkers don't discuss them as they are very tough coins to acquire with great frequency. You can go several auctions without seeing a monster one. They do not photograph well either more often then not.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

#1 and I'm guessing it's the similarities in the color/pop and surfaces. Some guys like blondes, others swear by brunettes, and there's a strong red-head following. Luckily, we don't all go for the same thing.
I'd like my copper well done please!

Holy Smokes, those are some awesome Proofs. Wow, the colors are extraordinary. Talk about a magenta burst! I bet that '91 is a blinder.

nice color...nice coins! the 94 is really interesting because it looks like the indian has eye liner (or war paint) on the eyes.

Cool analogy MJ... What I have discussed just at the show with someone who has collected and dealt with both Commems and Proof Indian Cents for over 30 years is how certain dates/designs toned with certain and similar colors and a similar look... Depending on the holders/cardboard/tissue they were originally issued in... Sometimes they end up with a different look depending when and if they were removed from the original packing and then what they were stored in...

MJ, that's a wild observation about Proof Indians and toned Morgans, I collect both also, weird. Also, my buddy Bob Prescott, whom I am sure know collects walkers after he sold his fabulous commemorative collection.

Yes, LS has probably seen more toned commems and Indians then any human and knows them inside and out. He also has a Walker I want : )

Very excellent. Those new indians are awesome!
  • Those coins were photographed by my assistant Chris at the FUN show. I think he did a great job.
