Great New Registry Set Up & Running: Washington Quarters Type B and C Reverses, Circulation Stri

Thanks BJ and DH!
The 1962 is pop 2/0 in MS67. I bought an undesignated piece recently at auction that I will send in to PCGS in the near future.

Anyway, there is very good reason to not open one's sets when they are under construction and some of the greatest registry collectors of all time follow this approach (e.g. High Desert). You can call me anytime and I can tell you a few stories about what happens when one's set is open (949) 394-7122.
Now, having said that, I chose to not follow my own advice and I did open up my entire silver Washington quarter collection and, in fact, have started building a gallery on my website (www.wondercoins.com) of some of the cooler coins that I have pics of. I know every coin was viewable because OnlyRoosies from the boards told me he enjoyed examining my entire collection when I had dinner with him at FUN. But, I am not sure that did not hurt me when the #2 set of quarters came up for sale last week. So, once again, I will rethink my position on this.

mitch, I see that you have an undesignated 1961 Type B in MS-66+ in your main collection. That should be a POP1. I don't think anyone has mad one yet.

1Tommy: By the way, I am perfectly content if I lose the number 1 spot in this set. In fact, I think that may very well happen when DR lists his collection. Not too long ago, when the 1961 was just pop 2/0 in MS66 and I had both coins in my collection, I did not hesitate to do a deal with DR so he could have one of the two coins in order to complete his set in perfect top grade coins at the time.
I've got 19 years to go with these Wash quarters (God willing) ... after the 100th Anniverary of the Washington quarter I'm finished collecting ... I don't care what the mint comes up with!!
