Cool T206 Poppage & Auction House vs eBay Question

I just had a pretty cool card pop, a T206 Sweet Caporal Frank Smith Chicago & Boston Factory 42 Overprint (can see Factory 30 on the back).

The card itself probably isn't at all a typical auction house type card in PSA 4, but it does have some value do to the extreme rarity. So my question is this, I've always just sold on eBay. My feedback is high enough, and I can usually get the same type prices for my stuff as the consigners.

That being said, I don't have near the eyeballs auction houses or consigners do, and to the right couple of people, that could make a huge difference in the final price. I wondering if there are enough people searching for some of the oddball T206s that it won't matter, or if I really want the right type of people seeing it I should consign to someone.

Any advice?

I'll update with a pic once the card arrives.

I'd list it on Net54 first, plenty of rare back collectors on there. Failing that ebay with a BIN. If it doesn't sell in a reasonable amount of time I'd suggest Goodwin for this card, he does a good job with scarce T206 backs.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • The problem with a high BIN or any kind of asking price other than an auction is I have no idea the value of the card. Is posting this type of question over at Net54 the best way to figure out a value?
