OPC Hockey Cello grading question

I have a 82-83 OPC hockey rack pack. I noticed different then Topps baseball/football it is essentially three separate cello packs inside a sleeve.

Would PSA grade this as a cello if I removed them from the sleeve and submitted individually? Anybody have experience with this?

thanks

  • I haven't had any experience with it, but I would pick up the phone and call them on this one.

My guess: YES (only because I've seen them for sale in PSA slabs)

My question is: Did O-Pee-Chee produce cello packs in 1982/83 (or any other year)?
    WANTED: Cincinnati Reds TEAM Cards
  • They produced in 74-75
  • Good point llafoe did OPC ever produce cello packs?

I've seen some PSA graded OPC cello's as well from 82-83. Now that I think of it those are likley from the broken down racks and graded as cellos.
  • I have submitted the Cellos from OPC Racks for grading.

    Pete
  • Thanks and to clarify they were graded without issue?

yes they do grade those and they are from broken down racks that have the 3 packs in them...the 1974/75 have opc wha cello packs which are tuff to come by and they are thick cello packs..i have owned a few of those over the years but i dont see them very often
  • Thanks! I guess that solves the psa doesn't grade racks for us opc folks, break down and submit. I've got a nice fuhr rookie cello I can now submit
