Playa Del Rey, CA Coin & Stamp Show - Jan 19-20, 2013... Anyone else going????

Anyone else going to the Playa Del Rey show this weekend?
For those that haven't been to the show before, I think it's one of the better small shows in SoCal... probably 30 dealers there give or take a few and a few of them only set up at this show and no where else. Great timing for all of us collectors that just can't wait until Long Beach
I like the show enough that I got a table there this time around... sharing it with forum member bigjpst. Hope some of you can stop by and say hello!!

<< <i>Ok, you talked me into it.
I would hope so
Every time I mention this show to collectors in SoCal, most seem to not know about it. Not sure why this show isn't as well known as other local shows of similar size, especially when it's a better show than many of those others!

I noticed that. Maybe the people that go know it's a good little show, and don't want to give up their secrets.

For a small show (25-30 dealers) that is only once a year and that is pretty much not promoted at all, it was alright. I was set up dealing at the show along with bigjpst and we both did a decent amount of business for a show of that size. I think all of the dealer tables were sold by the show, so it was a full room too. On the first day, I did enough business during dealer set up to cover all of my show costs which was nice. After that, there was a steady stream of folks coming into the show from around 10-1pm... then it died down but there were still some people trickling in until about 5pm. I wasn't able to buy too much, but I did get a nice MS66 Walker in an old PCGS holder and ended up reselling it less than 30 minutes later. Also bought a common date MS64DMPL Morgan which is something I don't normally buy, but I felt the price was too good to pass up. On Sunday, I was told by the dealers who have done the show many times not to expect too much as most people come on Saturday. I think the overall traffic on Sunday was about half that of the day before, but it was still ok and I did make a few sales. It was also a good opportunity to pass out a bunch of postcards that we had made up advertising our Long Beach table that we'll be at this year (Table 448). I was also pretty happy that I could see the flat screens in the bar of the Elks Lodge from my table so I was able to watch the football games in between customers! Again, not the biggest or best show in SoCal, but I'll definitely be back for it next year.
