It's legit. It appears that he has refused to sign this card since it was first issued. Did some research online and found several people working on complete autographed 1987 Topps sets and the Ricky Wright card and the Rangers team leader card (with Wright) are impossible to find.
"Ricky Wright will only sign his Fleer cards and even then, it's about $500 (not a typo) for charity. He usually will not sign ANY of his Topps cards, but David Cameron got him to sign all of two 1986 Topps "
WHo the hell is Ricky Wright to be making all these demands about what he will and won't sign? Only Fleer? And for $500? That's crazy. I never heard of the guy

Keith has been a good customer of mine from the "Patrick Meeker" find of signed sportscards I have on eBay. Thus this doesn't shock me that this price was paid for this card. Dave Cameron as well. I would not be surprised if Dave didn't push the bid.
Hell..... if a 1990 Donruss card (aqueous) can be worth something, I have no problem believing that a 1987 Topps card can.
'Sir, I realize it's been difficult for you to sleep at night without your EX/MT 1977 Topps Tom Seaver, but I swear to you that you'll get it safe and sound.' -CDs Nuts, 1/20/14
Yeah, seems like he does not sign. Here is the sole comment from StartTiger. It was from 2007.
"Sent letter and card. Today received my card back unsigned with a note saying he doesn't sign, and no, he didn't sign the note either."
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I have a buddy who stopped by Wright's home a little over a year ago while he was in the Dallas, TX area on business & got Wright to sign an entire run of his cards (for free). He said Wright had a huge bowl of his cards that he had rec'd over the years that he had kept.

Pretty wild!
He also got a great price on his Strawberry card that is signed unless there is some strange story surrounding his autograph on that card too.
At first I saw the huge gap between the top three bids and wondered if Keith ever cares if he feels like he paid to much for something.
Well even if he does he is loaded and $5k to him is like $50 bucks to many on here and I am sure he just wants to have it for his collection.
