I was intrigued by the simple beauty of the piece.

It is a classic New Testament text:

This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.

The final line refers to Matthew 3:17.

From the English Standard Version -
And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

The vendor at the show advised me that a new book is in the works, out of Poland.

A nice piece, and by coincidence quite an appropriate weekend to purchase it, since today was the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
