Mint Made or Post-Mint Old Gold Rim problem???

In a recent auction, I purchased this 1880 Double Eagle, graded PCGS XF-45. An auction photo of the item was posted, but i totally missed whatever is going on at about 9 o'clock. It appears to be a rim dent, but not really sure...maybe the coin didn't get struck properly. Can anyone determine by my poor quality pictures if this most likely happened during the minting process or do you think it is post-mint damage? Thanks for any replys.

Me too.

<< <i>Those coins are heavy and the gold is soft. Sometime in that coin's past someone dropped that coin on a hard surface. I'm surprised PCGS graded it since that is a fairly severe rim bruise. Don't bother sending it in for a CAC sticker. >>
Thanks for your replies thus far.

No, it is probably within tolerance for the grade. It may be net graded, hard to say for certain.
