Stacks Auction?

Anyone have any luck? Seemed a lot of stuff went to "passed" so far tonight. I thought a couple of areas did ok but it seemed there were a lot of unsold pieces.

I took a look at the Talers. Nothing really great in this round. I passed as well.

Still waiting to bid on a few lots, but there was a lot of sub-par material in this auction from my perspective.

Pursued one lot in a last minute decision but didn't pan out. Oh well.

I didn't get anything I was after, but that's okay. The main lot which I was after would have been nice to have, and I knew that it sold five months ago for (X), and 15 months ago for (X - 9%) and was willing to pay (X + 25%) but it went for (3X), so, I'm not disappointed.

Underbidder on the single lot I bid on, which is probably for the best. It wasn't spectacular.

I think the real highlight of the Ponterio auction this year was the ancients. The world coins weren't anything special overall.

Did you notice that almost all the decorations got passed? Frankly I was surprised. Apparently this is not the venue for those. Or the reserves were too high.

All the lots from the Demarete collection did well.

I managed one Mexican lot and a few Nicaraguan.

The VIP proof halfpennies I consigned did OK, nothing spectacular, just OK.
