Anyone know which years OPC baseball had series?

Seems like 1970 was all one series. 1971 seems to be multiple series (although I'm unsure of exactly how many). 1972 is two series. Unsure about 1973 & 1974. From 1975 on they all seem to be one series. No clue about 1965-1969. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • I opened a 1973 and 1974 full opeechee wax box years ago, and all series were in the one box.
Both years were definitely one series.

Anything from 73 or later is all one series.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • According to an old yearly Beckett #21, it speaks of series with their own checklists. If this is correct, than:

    1965: 4 series
    1966: 3 series
    1967: 3 series
    1968: 3 series
    1969: 3 series

Thanks for the info everyone. Anyone know how many series 1971 had? I know there are at least 3, is there a fourth or fifth?

CocoaBeach, thanks for looking that up. Do you know if those series correlated with how they were issued in packs? For instance, the 1972 OPC checklist shows more than two "series" but there were only two different series packs issued.

No, it doesn't say. Where the price differs on commons, I would think would be where one series ends & another starts because more or less of those packs were produced, but the checklist does not coorindate with where the price differs. If you want where those price changes occur, let me know & I will list them.
