Storage

I'm sure some of you have tremendous amounts of metal as part of your portfolio- actually, how much of your portfolio do you have in physical metal?

Sorry, my original question (got off tangent a bit) is how do you guys store it? A box at the bank? Safe in the home?

    Both

Banks are one of the most secure places to keep physical metal, but they aren't open on nights, weekends, or holidays when you might need and ounce or two for something.

If you have a good safe, security, and a closed mouth you are ok to keep some at home.

SDB is best place for gold. Eventually it is not cost effective to keep silver in a SDB as the stack get larger. A 500 coin ASE monster box weighs 43 pounds. A good gun safe and home security system at some point become necessary for the silver.

I have some in a box at the bank (expensive/rare items) some in my apartment (the cheap stuff) and some at my home Italy (things that I am not planning to sell soon).

Nibanny, how far are you from Florence? I'm shipping a big chunk of silver metal there to a buyer of my toy.

    Derryb, that's a beauty!
Are you really shipping it there? Let me know if you need a freight forwarder contact to ship it.
When I am in Italy it takes me 30 minutes to get to Florence.
