1973 Topps Reggie Jackson PSA 9

Probstein has a nicely centered 1973 Topps Reggie Jackson PSA 9 up for auction. Is anyone familiar with the picture quality on this card? It seems that most I've seen have a fuzzy picture with not a lot of clarirty or sharpness. Is this PSA 9 about as good as you're going to find for this card?

  • well pop report says a PSA 10 has never been submitted, so I'd say yes.

I don't ever recall seeing a sharp photo on that card though the non-clarity and color boldness can vary from card to card. I'll try to scan and post my 9 for comparison. Also, poorly centered reverses on 73s are common. If anyone ever finds card #1 with 60-40 or better centering on both front and reverse, I'd like to see it.

Add the Clemente to the list; nice centering on the front, terrible centering on the back!

Color an clarity. That's spot on. The same can be said for the Reggie RC. Horrible original photo registration, exposure, etc. but there are nicer ones out there and worse ones. eBay scans give an alright representation of the different "levels", and VCP gives you more images, but seeing a good one and a bad one next to each other cant be beat. Just discovered this when I picked up BPorters 7.5 Reggie and compared it to the one I had (which I thought was one of the nicer ones)
