MLB HOF Picks? Here's my wish...

Hoping that Raines gets a little love. Would be a great opportunity to off this OPC Pop 1 of 3 and make a little profit to start the new year...

I hate to say it, but I think no one gets in this year even though half a dozen belong in. ( Morris, Raines, Bonds, Clemens, Biggio & Piazza)

I'm guessing that if anyone gets in, it will be Piazza, but I don't think any of the first ballot guys will get enough votes. Seems like the voters are sending a message this year. That's why I thought Raines and Morris might have their best chance, but I'm hearing that many voters left their ballots blank.

I think Ramos and Pate were both "clean", maybe the writers vote them in along with Raines to make a point. Then you'd REALLY have yourself something.

Nice card, you have to love the Expos caps.

You guys think Biggio or Schilling has a shot?

Biggio has the best shot of the first ballot guys - of the 16 MLB.com writers who have votes, 14 voted for him - and the 2 who didn't voted for Jack Morris and no one else. Other than Biggio and Morris, I don't believe anyone else will even get 2/3 of the vote.

But take heart, come induction day, at least you'll have the ghosts of Deacon White, an owner, and an umpire.

  • I agree, I think Biggio has the best shot. But I also have this feeling that Bagwell may make it, partly because it would just be RIGHT for Biggio and Bagwell to go in together! I know he's a little longer shot but still very possible. It would be a great day for Astro fans (fan).

Tim Raines deserves in. So does Biggio, Clemens, Bonds, Piazza, and Bagwell.

I agree with a few others that Biggio has the best shot to get in if anyone does. Piazza gets about 67% of the vote I believe with Morris around 69%. image

It is quite possible that no one gets in although I truly say Lee Smith definetly is overdue.Trammel and Piazza are my other choices.

    I resemble that remark.

Lee Smith had a career 82% save conversion rate. He doesn't belong...and that is coming from a Cubs fan.
  • Tim Raines belongs in the Hall of Fame. His Average is pretty high for a speedy leadoff hitters and his stolen base totals look more impressive as the years go on. Nobody steals bases like Henderson, Coleman, and Raines did in today's baseball.

To me, the BBHOF became a joke the year Lou Whitaker failed to make it off of his first year ballot.
