1983 Fleer Cello Question

Hey, I'm looking to buy a Ryne Sandberg pack for a friend. I see two 1983 Fleer cellos on Ebay for like $25 or so. That seems like a "too good to be true" price. is it?

Here are the links:
Cello 1

Cello 2

I know there are some real unopened experts here, so I'm hoping for some advice/direction. Is there any reason to think these aren't good packs?

Alternatively, does anyone have a good idea for the Sandberg fan that has everything?

Thanks!

Drew

Considering a standard pack is worth a couple of bucks at most, and the raw card would probably be just a little more than that, I don't see how the price of pack is "too good to be true".
  • $25 is actually too high. On ebay, the last 2 1983 Fleer packs w/Sandberg on top sold for $12.50 and $10 (plus $5 s/h).
  • Agreed I think I paid around $15 for mine a few years back - I think BBCE has a Boggs Fleer for $20ish

  • If it was a PSA 9 with the shipping, maybe.

I would not buy cello 2 just because they didn't have a back scan included. So I guess that leaves cello 1 as the one I'd choose. The price of a Snadberg isn't that prohibitive though I would more likely buy nice a PSA 8 pack if he's a good friend.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm just really surprised that a HOF rookie from the 1980s on a cello is only worth a couple of ten dollar bills. Thanks a bunch!

Yes unfortunately for the last 20 years the value of this pack has steadily gone down but luckily no where near as steep a decline as a Canseco or Bonds pack has. If you like HOF rookie packs from the 80's check out the link in my signature we'd love to have anyone with a pack join the registry.
