so hitting the ground can't cause a fumble...

....but you have to maintain possession throughout a catch or it's incomplete?

NFL needs to seriously look at this conflict.

Just saw a play where an Indy receiver had possession, he was down.....rolled around a little and lost the ball.....incomplete.

But if he had lost the ball the second it hit the ground, it would be considered complete, no fumble.
WTH?

    I believe it might be an effort to spur on a little more offense . The ball would change hands many more times during the season and for those fans with an attention span shorter than a shaking rattle , this might be a fan base loss the league would rather not lose .

    fumbles are only good if your team ends up with it when they unpile.......no matter what the rule is.
